One Piece is, without a doubt, the GOAT of all shōnen series across the world.

As manga flies off shelves and anime garners millions of views, it continues to dominate the genre even after crossing the legendary 1000 episode and chapter mark.

With over two decades of phenomenal stories, it features a wide range of diverse and compelling characters and surreal environments.spread over an incredible 31 sheets minus the fillings.

While each arc is fun and a blast in its own right, some overshadow the others. But since that number isn't just a handful, I thought I'd better rank them from worst to best.

33.Orange City Arch

Orange Town focuses on Luffy, Nami, and Zoro's encounter with Buggy the Clown.

We not only saw the trio fight as a team, but also our first fight between two Devil Fruit users.

While Buggy's unique power and connection to Shanks made him an interesting opponent, he felt relatively depleted compared to his reappearances later in the series.

His minions were also very forgetful and only served as disposable supporting characters.

So even if theArc had good fight scenes and moments that made me laugh, the lack of plot development and developed villains make it last.

32.Langer Call Langer Landbogen

This arc has its center in theFox Pirates and their "Davy Back Fight", consisting of fun and extravagant gamescomo Donut Race e Froggy Ring.

While Foxy and her minions proved to be amusing antagonists, their comic genius soon waned when the jokes ran too long.

While Luffy's last boxing match provided some respite with its memorable afro and decent action, it was too late to save the bow.

Thank God,Admiral Aokiji's arrival at the end resets the story by making jokes about Robin's past, providing a great setup for Water 7's masterpiece.

31.Amazon Lily Bow

As a side quest for Luffy after the Straw Hats' crushing defeat on the Saboady Archipelago, this story arc introduces the young pirate toAmazon Lily Island, home of the Kuja Pirates and their leader, Warlord Boa Hancock.

Hancock was a narcissistic beauty with a horrible past, and this made her a much more sympathetic "bad girl" compared to the previous two.

I found his signature gesture of looking up at others especially amusing, as he leaned back so far that he was actually looking up.

While fighting your sisters brought us some action,The story pretty much stopped until the news of Ace's arrest reached Luffy., finally letting him realize he's alone.

in the end is asolid arc that provided a launching pad for the Impel Down arc.

30.inverted mountain arch

It's amazing how Oda manages to squeeze quite a bit of content into a short arc like Reverse Mountain.

Bearing in mind the theme of adventure, the bowit centers on the crew being swallowed by a whale named Laboon as they enter the Grand Line.

While we got plenty of action during Luffy's fight with Mr. 9 and Miss Wednesday, Laboon's sad past and Luffy's heartfelt promise to him stole the show and our hearts.

The arc also had some tidbits about Laugh Tale and Crocus' repetitive gag comedy goldmine. So in general it was like thisa fun first step in the Alabasta saga.

29.Sirup Village Arc

Syrup Village is one of the worst arcs in the series, which would be at the bottom of this list if it weren't.Usopp joins the team and debuts The Going Merry.

Although Usopp was initially an unpleasant addition to the crew, as his cowardice and incessant lying were constantly used for pranks, we know this is only a passing phenomenon as the series progresses.

Hearc also suffered from its main antagonist, Captain Kuro, as his past self seemed more interesting than the boring butler version, which Zoro easily and predictably defeated.

The Black Cat Pirates did little to help, as they turned out to be their usual bowling-style minions. Though Jango provided a healthy dose of comedy with his hypnosis, he wasn't given enough time to shine.

Finally,The arc's excruciatingly slow pace and boring villains almost cost the series its viewers if it weren't for the Baratie arc that put things right.

A massive data dump manifested as a level arc.

Virtually no plot or with the Straw Hats taking up most of the scenes,It served as both a nostalgia flashback and a bombshell for a whole new set of mysteries.- Im's debut, Shanks' secret meeting, a giant straw hat, and the Kuma situation.

I also hadFundamentals of world buildingWhen news of Luffy's exploits in Tottoland went viral around the world, Big Mom and Kaidou were revealed to be former rock pirates, and Garp's rise to hero of the sea was investigated.

There was also the crew's invaluable reaction to Luffy's new bounty and the reappearance of familiar faces like Rebecca, Vivi, and Shirahoshi along with new ones like the Revolutionary Army Commanders.

In general it was like thisA fantastic arc that spectacularly built the hype around the future of the show.

27.post war arc

After the devastating defeat at Marineford and the loss of Ace, thisArc handled Luffy's emotional trauma exceptionally well.

Seeing him depressed and lacking in self-esteem after years of being a blissfully optimistic captain was heartbreaking.

But what caught my attention the most was his interaction with Jinbe, where he tearfully remembers that after all the misery he's been through, he still has his nakama.

We also learn a little more about his backstory, specifically his training under Garp and how hard he worked to master his Devil Fruit abilities.

Despitearc delayed the dark mood longer than it should have, we get to see the effects of the power vacuum left after Whitebeard's deathand the chaos that spread across the seas.

26.small garden arch

Little Garden took us to the prehistoric world of Giants, where we are introduced to Dorry and Broggy- the most cheerful and carefree characters I've ever seen.

But their centuries-long peace and struggle were interrupted by the baroque works gang made up of Mr. 3, mr. 5, Miss Monday and Miss Goldenweek.

While we had some pretty good fight sequences, Lord 3 wasn't as fleshed out and the others felt underused.

While Usopp's cowardice was again used as comic relief, hisThe bold declaration of becoming a marine warrior was a welcome change of pace for his character.

25.Whisky-Peak-Arco

Whiskey Peak has put so much on our plates in just four episodes and nine chapters.

Dedicated solely to Zoro's peak, we have his defeat of 100 bounty hunters, as well as his confrontation with Luffy.

We also got our first hint of the Alabasta arc when the debut of Miss Wednesday Princess Vivi and Miss All Sundays aka Nico Robin was revealed.

In general it was like thisa short and sweet combination of incredible action and comedy along with substantial plot progression.

24.The Drum Insel book

To loadAfter a detour from Little Garden after Nami fell ill, the team ended up in the snowy landscape of Drum Island in search of a doctor.

Although Wapol was the arc's designated villain, he ended up being used as comic relief when Luffy and his team easily finished off him and his minions.

The real antagonist turned out to be the island's environment itself, which was a nice touch as it brought up the difficulties of adapting to the new environment.

23.Punk-Hazard-Arco

EScenters on the crew that sails to the fragmented island of Punk Hazard after receiving a distress call.

While Caesar was a great villain for a while, he didn't inspire fear like his minions Vergo and Monet.

They were much more intriguing and made the most of what little screen time they had, especially during their battles with Zoro, Luffy, and Smoker.

ButWhat the arc lacked in a great antagonist, it made up for with several plot points for future arcs.- Kid and Luffy's alliance, SMILES, causes the Wano Arc with the entry of Momonosuke, Artificial Devil Fruit, placing Doflamingo as the great villain of the Dressrosa Arc.

Finally,The hype-inducing info dump, its memorable antagonists, and the body-switching hilarity made it a pretty solid arc.

22.Wano Country Arc Part I

Part 1 of the sheet isfocused on the crew's separate missions to go undercover in the flower capital of Wano as they planned their all-out assault on Kaido.

With the rest of the team springing into action, Luffy and Zoro's adventures in neighboring towns brought to the table some incredible battle sequences and revealed the horrible status quo for the country's residents.

We also got a little history lesson about Kozuki Oden's past and uncovered the mystery of Red Scabbard's time travel.

But theThe climax of the arc was Luffy's brutal defeat after receiving a single blow from Kaido.which served as a grim reminder that theThe Straw Hat Captain was still miles away from the Pirate Emperor.

21.Jaya Bogen

Jaya burst the bubble of our pure Straw Hat perspective by expanding the worldfeaturing the Admirals, the Seven Warlords, and the general power structure of the world.

Taking off after saying goodbye to Princess Vivi, we seeRobin joins the crewplus a surprising glimpse into Blackbeard's ideology through his moving speech about dreams as he encouraged Luffy to pursue his own.

But it wasn't just limited to world building; He had a lot of action in the fight between Luffy and Bellamy, most notably Luffy's punch that put Showboat in his place.

also provideda fantastic introduction to the Skypiea arc with the mystery of the falling ship and the ancestors of the crickets.

20.Romantic Dawn Arc

It's the first arc in the series that gets the ball rolling, giving usan overview of Luffy's past and the inspiration behind his dream of becoming the Pirate King.

Shanks' wholesome handling of Luffy and delicious stubbornness draws you into the show right away. we even havea peek into zoro's pastand how he became Luffy's first crew member.

And when it comes to action, there's its fair share as Luffy takes on ex-Navy Captain Morgan, his brutal son Helmeppo, and pirate captain Alvida.

Overall, it's a great start to the show as it really spurs you on for what's to come.

19.Thriller Bark Arc

The arc focused on the crew's adventure on the haunted ship Thriller Bark and was sadly held back by its main antagonist, Gecko Moria.

His salvation, however, was thisSoul King Brook added to the team,in addition to his touching and heartbreaking story with Laboon.

While there was plenty of action against the Warlord and his minions, particularly the zombified and distorted versions of the Straw Hats and Perona, it was nothing compared to Zoro's fight against Kuma.

Even though it took us a long time to get there,Zoro's bravery in taking on Kuma's deadly Devil Fruit Paw Paw abilities on behalf of his friends was definitely worth the wait.

In the end, it was a decent arc that contained everything that makes One Piece what it is.

18.Fish-Man Island Arc

Fish-Man Island suffers a backlash from its mediocre and overzealous villain, Hody Jones. While I agree with the overwhelming opinion, it's theremany more amazing thingsin this arc.

for starters,Oda masterfully intertwined the concept of racism and its contradictory approaches.

I love the polar opposites that Fisher Tiger and Queen Otihime portray. While the first chooses fear, the second chooses peace to face the ancient conflict that plagues the fishmen and the surface world.

We also shed some light on them.elusive but vital character Joy Boy and the revelation that Princess Shirahoshi is actually Poseidon.

Also, the area around Fish-Man Island is impressive. The surrounding design and vibrant color palette really brought the whole island to life.

I was also amazedLuffy's prolific development when he defeated 50,000 Fishman Pirates with his Haki conquest and challenged Big Mom.

In the end, Fish-Man Island deserves more love, regardless of its flaws.

17.skypiea bow

Although Skypiea has a bad reputation for going off on tangents,embodies the essence of One Piece - Adventure.

As the bow dragged on for a long time, he compensated with aapathetic villain who had a god complex.Enel's Devil Fruit took him to another level with his lightning attacks that would fry anything or anyone in their path.

While the crew had a harder time fighting him, Luffy not only completely shook the "god" when he resisted his power, but defeated him with a single kick to the stomach.

In addition to the great action of the last fight, we also wonthe iconic moment when Luffy rings the Great Golden Bell to exonerate Noland and Roger's guide to the Poneglyph Riverthat he left behind when he visited the sky island.

This arc was filled with symbolism when Luffy paid homage to Gol D. Roger by visiting the place of his birth and execution, Loguetown.

In addition to explaining his dreams, Luffy experienced the dangers of the New World when Smoker defeated him, almost killing him if Dragon hadn't saved himself at the last minute.

Zoro also shared the spotlight with his new swords, Sandai Kitetsu and Yubashiri.

No total,The New World setting and the parallels between Luffy and Roger made the arc a fitting send-off to the East Blue saga.
